Ministry of Labour
& Employment, Government of India has published a short documentary on
National Career Service for Differently-Abled, Bhubaneshwar, highlighting the
work at "Vriddhi training cum Production
Centre".
Chumki Datta talks about her work as innovative social entrepreneur. On January 2, 2018, "Vriddhi Training cum Production Center” was launched as a Self Help Group [SHG] having all its 25 members from Persons with Disability [PwDs] community including the person with intellectual disability and in this way, this is a kind of unique initiative that employs only PWDs and their parents for all its purposes.
Vridhi was started with the idea that “Clinical care” alone is not sufficient for the Person with Disabilities. It is also required to have a comprehensive rehabilitation program including skill training to make them economically independent. It would encourage the differently-abled people for social participation and independent dignified living as well as create a consciousness in the society for social security and justice for the differently-abled people.
